Gand Music and Sound store manager Bob Tjarks has done numerous workshops for our customers. Gand MIDI workshops have included MIDI 101 and 102, Sequencing, Downloading MIDI files, and Make Your Own Demo. Check our website monthly for postings of the latest Gand events.  Brian Moore Guitar's recent workshop featured Detroit guitarist Jeff George demonstrating new models including custom shop, I-2000, and the MIDI guitar with its direct hookup for guitar synths and ultimate tracking. In a free drawing that evening, we gave away a beautiful guitar worth $1099!  TC Electronics introduced their new guitar effects processors in a workshop featuring guitarist/vocalist Marc Cooper. The G Major is the hottest new guitar effects processor on the market, and the Helicon Voice Prism also acts as an incredible harmonizer for guitar. If you haven't tried them both yet, don't wait another minute!  Acoustic guitarist Christopher Shaw gave a mini-concert and master class sponsored by Taylor guitars. The workshop featured tips for intermediate players including use of alternate tunings, accompaniment for vocalists, and performance/equipment tips.  Attendees brought their guitars for this hands-on workshop.  If there's one thing that former President Clinton and Metallica can agree on, its who makes the best donut: Krispy Kreme. A long time favorite of politicians and rock stars, Krispy Kreme donuts have recently come to Chicago. In conjunction with the local YWCA’s fund-raiser, Gand Music & Sound held their first Krispy Kreme day. Any customer coming into Gand that day got a free glazed classic donut. With a $200 purchase the customer got one dozen free glazed classic donuts. Needless to say, there were no leftovers!  |
