Over one hundred people turned out for burgers, brats, and all the fixings courtesy of chef Hugh "Bratmember" Daly of manufacturer’s rep firm Bormann Marketing and Audio-Technica microphones.

Audio-Technica set up a large display area with all of their microphones and headphones for hands-on listening, and one day sale prices made it worth a quick decision. They also held a free drawing for 2 sets of headphones, and a George Foreman grill (how appropriate!)

Musicians from all walks of life attended including tweens, teens, college-aged players, pro players and studio owners, adult hobbyists, and soccer moms and dads. Gary Gand explained the big turnout this way "The day started off under threatening thunder clouds. People love to go against the odds and attend an outdoor event. The sun came out, the temperature soared and it turned into a typical midwestern scorcher!"

Some theorists speculated that this year’s event was feeding off of the tight economy. A free meal may mean more today than in past years. One attendee said "When I saw that the burgers were real (not fast junk food) I decided to spend the afternoon and enjoy the festivities."

Gand Music and Sound events coordinator Kathy Burston and owner Joan Gand admit this is their favorite event of the year, and definitely plan do it again next year.

Another Audio-Technica BBQ Event featured a fresh-cooked BBQ buffet including hot dogs, brats, burgers, chicken, and even Boca Burgers, PLUS your choice of toppings, buns, salads, and of course cold drinks to complete the festivities. Glenn Roop of Audio-Technica and Hugh Daly of Bormann Marketing show the set-up with Mackie PA system, and Audio-Technica demo table with a huge assortment of mics including stage, studio, and wireless (if you look close you will see that Hugh is wearing a headset wireless system, which enable him to do demos and be the first ever "Wireless BBQ Chef." Also, a free drawing was held to win A-T headphones.
